Champions Who Were Born Here

Dogs who were born here and have now finished their Championships:

CH TEMPLE'S GUYS & DOLLS ("Nate")

"Nate" (for Nathan Detroit) was sired by CH Dartan Grand Slam, and Temple's My Fair Lady, and was born on January 25, 2008.   He has the sunniest disposition - I love it when the judge walks up to him on the table and Nate wags his tail.   He's been lanky during his youth, just like his dam.   But he's starting to bulk up now and look like a show dog.    He has already produced two lovely litters, and we have great hopes for this boy's future!

CH TEMPLE'S PETE'S DRAGON ("Elliott")

"Elliott" was born on 2/6/07, sired by CH. Temple's the Color of Money ("Gold") and out of CH Temple's Beauty and the Beast ("Belle").   He was out of the second and last litter Belle was able to produce.  Elliott is lovely, with a beautiful head and movement to match.   He's a loving boy, VERY intelligent...  and very headstrong and independent, especially in the ring.  Elliott went to Perry Hahn to handle, and ended up bonding so well that Elliott officially become Perry's lap dog.  Perry finished  Elliott's championship in a heartbeat.   Elliott has sired some beautiful litters.  He also continues his duties as Perry's lap warmer.

CH TEMPLE'S MISTER ROBERTS ("Hank")

Hank is Kane's fourth champion offspring to finish.   Hank's dam is our Reese.   Hank is loved and spoiled rotten by Jeanne Sherman in Indianapolis.  Hank sleeps on Jeanne's pillow at night, and wakes her up when he is ready for his massage.   However, Jeanne trained him to perfection for the show ring, making me very, very proud of them both.  Hank has already sired one litter of four girls, and Jeanne and I have big hopes and plans for his future.   Her plans include the obedience ring, and my hopes include more beautiful babies!!

CH. TEMPLE'S SOME LIKE IT HOT  ("Sugar") 

 

Sugar is a Kane and Tick daughter - and has the sweet personality of both. Shown for me by Jim Lehman, she finished her championship one day, and was bred the next day to a lovely little champion from Art & Gloria Johnson's house, CH. Arwyn Thunderstruck.   Their puppy Miki is a delight, just like her parents.   It's good to have Sugar back home, where her quiet but very happy little self adds bushels to our fun.

CH. TEMPLE N WEBB'S

TIME ENOUGH FOR LOVE ("Lazarus")  

Lazarus is the son of Lady and of Gold, and is proudly owned by Roger and Amber Webb.   His litter was the first that Roger and Amber Webb had ever seen whelped.   It was a difficult birthing process, and Lazarus was the last of four pups.  It took forever to get him out, and he was limp and gray and completely lifeless.  With all of us in tears, I explained and demonstrated what is done to revive a pup, even though I also told him that I was very sure this wasn't going to work.  I worked on him only because you don't quit without a fight.   But when he took that first breath after 15 minutes, we all went crazy.   Therefore - "Lazarus".    Lazarus is the Webb's first champion, thanks to Jim Lehman who showed him during Amber's illness.   Laz's son Chong is my pride and joy, and Laz's daughter Charlize is the Webb's sassy little girl; these are hopefully only the first of many beautiful pups Laz will produce.

CH. TEMPLE N WEBB'S LEGALLY BLONDE  ("Reese")

Reese is a daughter of Cheech and April, and was a little blonde beauty, but a diva from the start.  I had doubts about whether she could get off of her throne and be a good mama and a great show girl.  She proved me wrong in that she was a wonderful mama to Hank, Blue and Leiloo.  She played and romped and had more fun with them than I thought was possible!   Jim Lehman proved me wrong and made her into a decent show girl and a champion.   We think Reese is now expecting her second litter, and we are VERY excited!!
CH. TEMPLE N WEBB'S CASABLANCA ("ILSA"):
 

Ilsa was sired by Kane, and was his champion offspring.  Her dam is Temple's The April Fools, and Ilsa was April's second champion offspring.  Like most Kane puppies so far, Ilsa is such a happy little extrovert!  It seems like I usually cringe when I slip a lead (show leash) on to a pup for the first time, but Ilsa (like Sugar, and Hank, and Blue) all just perked up and seemed to say "Cool, we can walk together!!"   Ilsa's favorite position is flat on her back, begging to have her tummy rubbed.   We are dearly hoping that 2009 is the year she finally has her first litter

CH. TEMPLE'S MILLION DOLLAR BABY ("Layla") 

        Layla is named for my only sister's only child's boxer, since little Layla looked like a boxer as a baby.   She is shy and submissive until you get her in the show ring, and then she struts and shines.   A sweet girl, and a credit to her sire, CH. Dartans Jaguar of Galway, and her mama, Temple's My Fair Lady.   Thanks to Jim Lehman for getting her finished and getting her home so quickly!!

 

CH. TEMPLE'S SHE GOT GAME ("Tick")

        Tick's name came from the fact that her mama Ruby (who Ruby only has ONE pup per litter) is a WONDERFUL mama, and felt it was her duty to feed her firstborn until she couldn't walk.  Tick's name came from our vet, Dr. Joe, who took one look at the overly-fed little pup and say "Good grief, she looks like a tick!"   And... unfortunately... she started answering to it.  Tick has the happy go lucky attitude of her father, CH. Temple's Jumpin' Jack Flash, and the maternal instincts of her mama Ruby.   (And she still loves to eat...)  Her son, Temple's Juan Carlos Por Emma and her daughter, Temple's Some Like It Hot, should be showing up in the ring in 2008!  

CH. TEMPLE'S THE COLOR OF MONEY

("Gold")

This is the son of my Pearl and CH. Mar-rich Right On The Money -L. His litter mate sister is Ruby. Gold finished with four majors. He's a funny guy - lays on his back & holds his toys in the air with his paws to play with them!

 

Ch. Temple's African Queen ("Rosie")

"This little girl is Pearl and Willie's daughter.  Her championship places Pearl on the CCA's honor roll of "Chihuahua Dams of Seven or More Champions".  Rosie is a delight in the ring - struts herself and shows off royally!  Thanks to Jim Lehman for finishing her championship so quickly!"

 

CH. TEMPLE'S JUMPIN' JACK FLASH ("Flashy")

"Flashy" is the son of Amante and Anya. He's siring sweet, pretty pups, and one of his sons is now known as "CH. Temple's Father of the Bride" ("Fuzzy"); this Flashy's first offspring to finish. Flashy is shown here relaxing in his native habitat, the kitchen, wondering why I'm taking pictures of him again.

Kane is currently ranked #2 long coat in the USA, thanks to Jim Lehman, his handler, shown here. Kane is the son of CH. Dartan's Grand Slam and CH. Windsong Temples Black Pearl. Shown here taking first place in the Toy Group. Kane will soon be coming home, hopefully to sire gorgeous little pups!!

CH. TEMPLE'S PIRATES O'CARIBBEAN ("Capt. Jack) ** (Flashy & Pearl)

CH. Temple's Pirates O'Caribbean (Capt. Jack) is shown here finishing his championship, with his owner/handler Perry Hahn. Perry "griped" to me that Jack finished "too quickly"... 3 majors for 12 of his points was pretty wonderful! Thanks so much to Perry and Jan!!

CH. TEMPLE'S FATHER OF THE BRIDE ("Fuzzy")

"FB", or Fuzzy Butt, as he was affectionately known here, is shown with his handler/owner Jeanne Demyan, who provides a wonderful and loving home for this little guy! Son of Flashy and Farrah...

CH. TEMPLE'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

("Belle") (Our "Lady"and CH Winhaven Davlyn Bugsy Malone)

Belle is a continuation of the great legacy left me by Farrah (mother of both Lady and Belle)   Belle's brother is "Eliot", CH. TEMPLE'S THE UNTOUCHABLES, who is owned and loved by Sue and Jim Hanke, owners of their sire, Bugsy.  Bugsy too is a showman - but Lady helped give Belle her attitude.  Belle loves to show, loves to be in the ring, loves to play at home, loves to be the first one in your arms if you sit on the kitchen floor.... well, you get the idea.  I am really looking forward to Belle pups, and praying that they all get their mother's and grandmother's wonderful, sunny disposition!

GONE WITH THE WINDSONG

Tara is the daughter of Black Pearl, who came to me from Annette Waldkoetter and her "Windsong" line. Hopefully, Tara will be a small payback for the wonderful privilege of having Pearl here!!Tara is shown here with Darcy Fast, who is doing wonderful things with her in the show ring!

CH. TEMPLE'S DO THE RIGHT THING ("Ruby") (Pearl & CH. Mar-Rich Right On The Money - L) 

Ruby is an "Al" daughter, and got every ounce of his showmanship.   The funniest time to watch Ruby is at a dog show.  If we don't take her, she whines CONSTANTLY until we get out the door.   If she is showing, she sits outside the ring in my arms with her ears down, one paw up, shaking pitifully and looking ratty.   The minute we enter the ring and I put her down, she shakes herself out, throws her chest out and her head back and acts like Cher taking the stage!  DIVA!!   Loves to strut her stuff.   Bad news is that she just has ONE puppy at a time - good news is that Tick and Denzel were both worth the wait and the C-sections!
